Sound of Music
.....The Hills are alive with the sound of music.......
What a great movie! We watched 'The Sound of Music' this past week, I have forgotten how awesome that movie is! The whole week I have been singing all of the songs, I also remembered that we own the soundtrack! So if you haven't watched 'The Sound of Music' in a loooooooong time, I suggest to you WATCH IT!!!!
Here are some lyrics to a wonderful song off of 'The Sound of the Music'
Edelweiss (you prounounce it a-del-vise)
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever
Now, I must say.....
There's a sad sort of clanging
From the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too,
And up in the nurs'ry an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say "coocoo".
Regretfully they tell us,
But firmly they compel us
To say goodby to you.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, good night,
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, adieu,
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu
So long, farewell, Au'voir, auf wiedersehn,
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, goodbye,
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye,
Good bye
I'm glad to go,
I cannot tell a lie.
I flit, I float,
I fleetly flee, I fly
The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn, goodbye,
Goodbye,
Goodbye,
Goodbye!
GOOD BYE!!HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!
Luv-Luv

I "luv" that movie. My favorite soung is probably the one the children are singing for the Baroness when she first arrives at the villa. Right after the Captain finishes chewing out Mary Poppins (I forget her name...Julie Andrews, perhaps?).
Yes, it is Julie Andrews, but in the movies she in Frauline (sp?) Maria.
***...but in the movie she is in...***
***...she is...***
***add a comma after movie***
Do you mean to say, in the movie is....
No, I mean to say, in the movie she is Frauline Maria!
Although it took you a while to say that, you are quite right.
LOL! Sorry! I was having some Grammar Problems. Here I'll type it out just for you (and it will be correct this time)
Yes, it is Julie Andrews, but in 'The Sound of Music' her name is Frauline (sp?) Maria.
There I did it and it is correct! (I hope!)
Thank you.
Life is so much better in the south, sound of music, great movie that appeals to all generations and leaves you wanting to sing your heart out, more then normal if your primitive baptist.
That's funny
Great Scot underestimates me. I've actually worn out -- I think -- THREE of the original records, starting at the age of five and continuing on until it appeared on cassette tape some years later. The tape died at some point. I believe the cd I currently have may be my second.
I've had two videos of it, and now am the proud owner of the fully remastered DVD.
It was the first movie I ever saw in a theatre. I was mesmerized. I was Greta's age when it came out, so I WAS Greta -- when I wasn't Maria. I knew every word to every song by my 6th birthday, and I guess I sang the entire score thousands of times before I was grown.
Yes, I kinda like that movie.
I love the sound of music. It's a great movie. "The hills are alive with the sound of music..." I might watch it again pretty soon.
Are you going to post your Poem, that I thought was swell?
Well, it seems to have been said a great many times already but it really can't be said too much; I LOVE that movie!
It is on my 5 favorite movies list which is signifigant as I am a great lover of a great many movies.
If you just think about the title and let it soak in for awhile it will give you goosebumps!
The Sound of Music.
