Belle, Beauty and the Beast

'Beauty and the Beast' is a world known Disney classic, almost every little girl would love to be put in Belle's yellow ball gown. But, Belle isn't just a pretty girl in a dark scary castle, she's isn't shallow, and looks for the good in people. 'Beauty and the Beast' is a great movie that teaches you, not to judge a book by it's cover, and give people time before you form an opinion about someone.

Belle:] There's something sweet
And almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear
And so I'm sure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before
[Beast:] She glanced this way
I thought I saw
And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw
No it can't be
I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before
[Belle:] New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see

This story line is quite strong, notice in the song above 'Something There' that Belle sings, "...True that he's no Prince Charming, But there's something in him that I simply didn't see."
At first, all Belle saw in the Beast was, a Beast with no feelings....which was true, but since she didn't treat him as a prince, it taught him that he wasn't better then everybody and she made him comfortable in his own skin...I mean... fur. Sure, it was a bit rocky at first, but Belle saw past the Beast, and fell in love with him, and the Beast saw past Belle's stubbornness, and fell in love with her. Sure, first impressions aren't always the best, but they aren't always true. My points are, give people more than one chance for your opinion on them, and don't look at the person and get your opinion by their looks, get to know them.

I hope I got my point across.

P.S. My other point was also to get you to watch 'Beauty and the Beast' very soon! I recommend it!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to eat....eat.....eat.....be thankful......eat some more........be with family while eating......eat.......eat......eat some turkey.......and some mashed potatoes......and pumpkin pie......eat.......eat......OKAY! WE EAT A LOT!!!!!!! IT'S THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!WHAT CAN I SAY?!!?!?!?!?!????!!!!!???!?!?!?!

I'm thankful for:
Food (what? I had to put it on here!)
Family
Friends
Clothes
Money
God sending his son to die on the cross for us, so we could go to heaven
Malls (hehe)
Cars
Church
Computers
TV's
Books
Movies
Shows
People who do dirty jobs, so that we can live a life of cleanliness
My Bed, Pillow, chair
Etc.

I'm thankful for a lot of stuff. You should be too. But, if you ever catch yourself wanting more (like I find myself doing quite frequently) just think about Obe' and that should clear things up. If you don't know who Obe' is, he is a man from Tanzania. He told us stories of when he was a boy they were poor, that for the WHOLE day all they would get to eat was a piece of cornbread, or a small spoonful of rice. People die every day in Tanzania from starvation. Yet, all the things Obe' went through, he still, never gave up on God, he always said, "God is good." and I have to agree. So, when you think you don't have enough, think of Tanzania, think of Obe', and think of God's sacrifice he gave for us.....just so we could go to heaven.

Be thankful.
Happy Turkey Day!

The Place on Wishbone Alley

'The Place on Wishbone Alley'......what a good book, I started it Wednesday night and I am almost through with it! It is not a well known book, but it's a gem! Check it out! I don't want to say anything about because I haven't completely finsished it yet, so I don't want to say anything and then, have a different opinion when I'm through with the book. But, I will tell you it's based in the late 50's early 60's.......so good, I recommend it HIGHLY!

deritus

The Word of the Day for November 7 is:

detritus • \dih-TRYE-tus\ • noun 1 : loose material (as rock fragments or organic particles) that results directly from disintegration2 a : a product of disintegration, destruction, or wearing away : debris *b : miscellaneous remnants : odds and ends

Example sentence:"The blog originated . . . as a catch basin for mental detritus, for the kind of stuff not good enough for print, but too good to waste on casual conversation." (Joel Achenbach, The Washington Post, August 21, 2005)

Did you know?In the late 18th century, Scottish geologist James Hutton borrowed the Latin word "detritus" (meaning "rubbing away") for the process of wearing away or wearing down rock. His use of the word, however, was short-lived: one of the last appearances of this usage is in an 1802 book on his geologic theory. In that book, "detritus" was also used to describe the loose material that results from disintegration. It is that use, unlike Hutton's original, which has withstood the test of time and is firmly established in geology. Not surprisingly, "detritus," with its erudite sound and figurative possibility, was also taken up by non-geologists, from other scientists to nonscientists.*Indicates the sense illustrated in the example sentence.

Whitney needs...

Ok I did it, it started with Joe Black and now it is...ME! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, got to www.google.com or anyother sort of web source and type in BLANK (your name) needs, then hit go! You'll see how funny it is!

Whitney needs a little polish

Whitney needs to spend time w/ her daughter

Whitney needs serious drug rehab

Whitney needs some help -- and a new wigmaker

Whitney needs her private life

Whitney needs a pumping, original, festive club mix

I don't think that Whitney needs to be with Lana

Whitney needs to clean up her act

Whitney needs a permit

Whitney needs to be more proactive

Whitney needs to be acknowledged and preserved

Whitney needs no particularreason for joy.

Okay stop laughing!

Autumn by Emily Dickinson

The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.

~Emily Dickinson

What a neat poem! My mom loves it.
